In order to broaden its experimental field, the Institut d’art contemporain, Villeurbanne/Rhône-Alpes, reaches out with its creative activity by means of ‘Galeries Nomades’ exhibitions throughout the Rhône-Alpes region. This enables young artists with qualifications from the five écoles supérieures d’art in Rhône-Alpes (Annecy, Grenoble, Lyons, Saint-Étienne and Valence) to benefit from a first solo exhibition under professional conditions for the dissemination of contemporary art. Every two years, in collaboration with Adera (www.ecoles-art-rhonealpes.fr) and with joint production with partners, the Institut d’art contemporain holds five exhibitions with the creation of new work and a publication. Galeries Nomades is an innovative facility for creation and forms a mobile laboratory displaying the latest in contemporary art and its vivacity in the
Rhône-Alpes region.
In 2010, five exhibition venues have hosted the work of the five artists invited: Nicolas Tilly at (9)BIS, Saint-Étienne (Loire), Camille Llobet at L’attrapecouleurs, Lyons (Rhône), Julia Cottin at the Centre d’Art Contemporain de Lacoux, Hauteville-Lompnès (Ain), Yannick Vey at Chapelle Sainte-Marie (Groupe d’Art Contemporain), Annonay (Ardèche) and François Daillant at Angle art contemporain, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux (Drôme).
